Fellowships

The Foundation approved funding in the amount of $75,000 for the first Academic Fellowship Program in phlebology which began in July 2007. Under the direction of Dr. Tri Nguyen, the American College of Phlebology Fellowship Training Program Advisory Committee developed a twelve-month postgraduate training program in phlebology. The program provides fellows with education and clinical training in all aspects of venous disease, based on the ACP approved curriculum. Graduates of approved phlebology fellowships are eligible to sit for the Board Certification Exam in phlebology.

ACP Phlebology Fellowship Training Programs are approved only after demonstrating and fulfilling rigorous standards. Fellowship programs will be distinguished as being among the first formal training programs in the nation receiving both recognition from the ACP and funding to support a twelve-month phlebology fellowship. Additional information about the Academic Fellowship Program can be found at www.phlebology.org/fellowships.
